Notice to all Members

An Extraordinary General Meeting was held at Mingara on Tuesday 30th June to call for new Directors after the resignation of Phil Gunns and Graham Steinthal who were elected at the last AGM.

There was also general discussion about the future of SBCC and how it can support its members. The overwhelming position was that the current Board would seek to amend the Constitution to streamline its operation ensuring each member club has a role to play in the future of this incorporation.

The current chairperson, Kim Williams gave every attending member an opportunity to speak before asking for nominations to fill the vacant 4 positions available according to the constitution.

The new board representing all clubs and was determined with 4 elected Directors; Kim Williams, Tony Davies, Kerry Spindler and Michael Newman. The Board also offered and appointed a (non-voting) role to Graham Steinthal to continue as Treasurer.

Following the EGM the newly formed board met to determine the actions moving forward, a new Chairperson also needed to be appointed following Kim William's decision to stand down as Chair, that position was appointed to Michael Newman.

The boards immediate focus will be:

  • Re-introduction of a Monday Division 1 Teams championship (scheduled to start 18th July)
  • Re-Introduction of a Tuesday Billiards Teams championship
  • Scheduling individual graded championships
    • A, B, C Grade Snooker – Open & Handicap Billiards
  • Changes to Constitution for club consultation and legal advice before presenting at an EGM for voting

We will share more details as necessary in the future but for now we are confident we can start to return to participation and competition for all our members.
