NEW COMPETITION FORMAT

MONDAY NIGHTS

A new format that combines all snooker teams leagues/competitions.

Scheduled to start MONDAY 1st AUGUST.

This league is OPEN TO ALL GRADES and multiple grades per team are encouraged.

Our member clubs have many varied levels of players so this format is designed to equalise competition.

This is a FLUCTUATING HANDICAP model that is currently played in Division 2 and Wednesday Nights Teams competitions.

Playing the required amount of games your handicap will fluctuate and be within a reasonable band based of your overall performance and to encourage players to compete at all times the incentive for the top 16 in each grade to be offered a seeded position in the knockout singles championships where you will compete for PRIZEMONEY.

League duration will depend heavily on teams registered however it's intention would be to run into Q1 of 2023 allowing for a recess period for Christmas/New Year holiday period, followed by the singles championships.


Key Points:

1. The primary Teams Snooker competition for SBCC

2. All grades eligible to play, you can have a team made up of players from all grades

3. 5 players per team compete in each round

4. Best of 3 frames of snooker

5. Players must compete in order of handicap, highest to lowest

6. Order of play will be by random draw where players are present and available to play

7. Fluctuating handicap model, win a game -2 and lose a game +2 adjusted for the next round

8. 1 team point for each game won, 5 points on offer per team each round (excluding shirt point)

9. Qualifier for players to compete in singles championships where prize money will be presented to the Grade Champion.


Three (3) separate championships will be held for the top 16 qualifiers in each grade.
